Hundreds of people made Martin Luther King Jr. time a day on instead of a day off this year and had a great time helping others!

Davenport University and Mott Community College both hosted amazing volunteer events where we made fleece blankets. The blankets will go to veterans recovering from injuries, to elderly people and others.

The University of Michigan-Flint hosted a variety of volunteer opportunities at nonprofit organizations throughout Flint including Genesee County Habitat for Humanity and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint.
Kettering University had students volunteering with the Flint Public Library which always hosts an array of vibrant speakers, singers, dancers and crafts.
Baker College did a wonderful job of connecting volunteers to children and others. Volunteers read books to the kids and even helped host a birthday party at a local convalescent home.
In all, hundreds of people gave of their time on a day when most who had the day off were just kicking back and doing their own thing.
Remember, he who leads is the servant of all. Great job by these servant leaders!
